BGL BNP ParibasBGL has some of the most accessible pricing on the market. Pack Essentiel is €2/month with the loyalty bonus (inflows ≥ €1,500/month; €4 without), debit card included and credit card optional. The strongest deal in the range is also the least known: Pack Confort (€4.50/month with the loyalty bonus, €9 without) is free for the under-30s who domicile their salary or provide a school certificate — a complete package with a Mastercard Gold or Visa Classic credit card at zero cost. Pack Exclusif (€9/month with the loyalty bonus, €12 without) provides 4 cards, 3 free third-party ATM withdrawals/month and free international transfers. On withdrawals, the schedule in force (1 July 2026) specifies that euro withdrawals are free across the whole BGL and Bancomat® network — so everywhere in Luxembourg — on top of BNP Paribas Group machines abroad.
BILBIL Digital (€3.50/month with inflows ≥ €1,500, €5 without) is free for 12 months when opened online, then free if your assets reach €25,000 — and free outright for ages 12 to 17. It includes the Visa Debit and 5 withdrawals/month on the bancomat network. BIL Gold (€9.90/month with inflows ≥ €2,500, €11.90 without, free for ages 18-27) includes the Visa Gold and the strongest insurance pack on the market at this price: medical expenses up to €50,000, trip cancellation €5,000, baggage, purchases and ski equipment. BIL Platinum (€19.90/month with inflows ≥ €4,000) raises medical cover to €250,000 and adds LoungeKey, Smart Delay and unlimited incoming non-SEPA transfers. One thing to watch at BIL: incoming transfers from outside the SEPA zone still cost 0.20% (min €5, max €40) on Digital and Gold. The new 1 October 2026 schedule changes no retail package price; it does explicitly widen the free-withdrawal network to Bancomat® alongside the six partner banks.
SpuerkeessSpuerkeess applies flat-rate fees with no direct deposit conditions, which makes it the most readable offer on the market. Zebra (€3.50/month flat) includes 1 card of your choice (Visa Debit or Visa Classic) and 1 free third-party ATM withdrawal/month. Zebra Premium (€9.50/month flat) provides 4 cards (2 Visa Debit + 2 Visa Classic, or 1 Classic + 1 Premier), 4 free third-party withdrawals/month and -25% on the mortgage application fee, a free personal-loan fee and a preferential overdraft rate up to €10,000. Worth knowing if you are moving to the country: Spuerkeess gives new arrivals 6 months of Zebra Premium free, provided you apply within 3 months of arriving.
Raiffeisen LuxembourgRaiffeisen offers OPERA PLUS at a flat €10.75/month with no direct deposit condition, and the fee can be paid in whole or in part with the OPERA points you earn on your savings and loans. The package includes Visa DEBIT + Visa Gold (or Platinum at +€4.50/month), free withdrawals at Raiffeisen and POST machines, 1 free withdrawal/month at other banks, and above all -25% on personal loan and mortgage application fees — the broadest credit benefit in this comparison, on top of -20% on safe deposit boxes, R-PlanInvest and R-Pension and -10% on R-Invest, R-Gestion and R-Conseil. The card-linked overdraft runs at 9.00% with no application fee. For 18-30 year-olds, Green Code Job gives OPERA PLUS free for 2 years, and Green Code Study stays free until the 30th birthday with a 100% free rental guarantee.
POST LuxembourgPOST Luxembourg offers the eboo packs, fully digital accounts with free worldwide payments and withdrawals in any currency — the simplest proposition on the market if you travel or live across borders. eboo Basic (€4/month) covers just the account and eBanking, with no card. eboo S (€5/month, free for under-26s) includes a Visa Debit. eboo M (€8/month) adds a Visa credit card, an authorised overdraft and everyday insurance (in-store and online purchases, travel accidents). eboo L (€10/month) includes a Visa Gold and extended travel insurance (cancellation, baggage, car rental, transport delay, winter sports, theft and phishing), plus deferred payment over up to 10 months — all with no direct deposit requirement. Through the Raiffeisen partnership, eboo customers also get a discount on loan application fees and access to OPERA benefits. Tariff grid unchanged since 1 February 2026.
Guides and comparisons to manage your finances in Luxembourg
Whether you are a resident, expat or cross-border worker, here is what you concretely gain from banking with a Luxembourg institution in September 2026.
Opening a joint account is straightforward: both account holders visit a branch together by appointment. Each person must bring:
The bank creates two LuxTrust certificates (one per person) and opens the joint account in a single appointment. In practice, a joint account is usually opened alongside two individual accounts — one for each person's salary and personal expenses, the other for shared household costs. Your bank card arrives by post within one to two weeks.
