In September 2026, the energy price for a Luxembourg business ranges from 11.52 c€/kWh (Enovos fix naturstroum Pro) to 13.83 c€/kWh (Enovos naturstroum Pro, variable). This component — and it alone — is what changes between suppliers. For 25,000 kWh/year, the gap between the cheapest and the priciest offer is about €578 per year; it rises to €1,155/year for 50,000 kWh.

A business electricity bill has three blocks: the energy price (set by the supplier, in c€/kWh), the network charges (set by the grid operator — Creos or Sudstroum — based on subscribed power) and taxes (electricity tax, compensation fund, 8% VAT). Since network and taxes are identical across suppliers, the only real comparison lever is the energy price per kWh. That is why this comparison puts it front and centre.

It is also why, unlike a residential comparison tool, we do not show a "typical monthly bill": between an 8,000 kWh/year shop and an 80,000 kWh/year workshop, profiles are far too different for a single figure to be meaningful. The price per kWh, by contrast, is universal and directly comparable.

Three suppliers sell electricity to businesses in Luxembourg: Enovos (the historic supplier), SUDénergie and Sudstroum (both from the south of the country). All deliver 100% green electricity; the difference lies in the energy price, tariff type and level of service.

Our recommendation by profile

⚠ Note on Enovos: the fix naturstroum and naturstroum plans share the same name for households and businesses — only the per-kWh rate differs. We label them "Pro" and show the business rate (Enovos simulator "Professionnels" tab), distinct from the residential rates on our residential electricity comparison.

Your premises' connection type determines the structure of your bill and the offers available to you:

• Low voltage (LV) — the vast majority of shops, offices and small workshops. The connection is defined by a reference power (3 to 200 kW) or an amperage (40 A, 50 A, 63 A, 80 A, 100 A…). All the "pro LV" offers in this comparison target this profile.
• Medium voltage (MV) — industrial sites and large infrastructure, usually above 100 A / high power. SUDénergie offers a dedicated Mäi Stroum pro MV tariff; Enovos and Sudstroum handle these profiles on a quote basis.

Since 2025, network charges include a power component: a fixed monthly fee that rises with subscribed reference power. Over-sizing your power wastes money; under-sizing exposes you to an "overrun supplement" billed beyond your reference power. Network charges do not depend on the supplier but on the grid operator for your municipality: Creos across most of the territory, Sudstroum in the southern basin (Esch-sur-Alzette and surroundings), Diekirch and Ettelbruck in their own communes. They include a fixed part (by power), a volumetric part (per kWh) and smart-meter rental. Good news in 2026: all four operators apply the same low-voltage tariff grid (joint Creos · Diekirch · Ettelbruck · SudStroum schedule dated 26 November 2025) — your municipality no longer affects the network tariff.

2026 state subsidy: the State contribution (€150m) is already deducted from the 2026 grid and applies to every low-voltage connection, with no consumption condition. The volumetric charge falls from €0.0759 to €0.0510/kWh (−2.49 c€/kWh) and the fixed charge from €11.11 to €7.42/month at a 3 kW reference power: for a site using 25,000 kWh on a 12 kW / 40 A connection, the annual network bill drops from about €2,322 to €1,579 — roughly €743 saved. Do not confuse this with the 25,000 kWh/year threshold, which applies not to this contribution but to the compensation-fund subsidy described below.

On top come the electricity tax, the compensation-fund contribution (set by the ILR) and 8% VAT.

New since 1 August 2026: under the Resilienzpak, the compensation-fund contribution moves from −0.10 c€/kWh (January–July) to −3.71 c€/kWh excl. VAT, i.e. −4 c€/kWh incl. VAT, until 31 December 2026 — but only for category A, meaning connections consuming under 25,000 kWh/year. That is 3.61 c€/kWh less than in the first half of the year on every kWh consumed from August to December: about €72 a month for a site using 2,000 kWh/month. As of 10 September 2026 the business simulators of Enovos and SUDénergie do apply this line to professional sites below the threshold, whereas the Ministry of the Economy presents the measure as aimed at residential households — have your supplier confirm it before you budget for it. Above 25,000 kWh/year (category B) the contribution stays positive (+0.15 c€/kWh) and no subsidy applies.

As all these lines are identical across suppliers, they are excluded from our energy-price ranking.

Good news: in Luxembourg, every business offer in this comparison is 100% renewable. "Greenness" is therefore not a sorting criterion but a baseline guarantee. The nuances:

• Enovos — 100% renewable electricity, TÜV-certified annually, with a nova naturstroum option for even more local production.
• SUDénergie — 100% wind, certified origin (Mäi Stroum Pro labelling).
• Sudstroum — 100% green via a hydro + wind mix; Terra Invest Online also channels 0.4 c€/kWh into expanding renewables.

Choosing the tariff type matters as much as choosing the supplier:

🔒 Fixed price

The energy price is locked for 1 to 3 years (Enovos fix naturstroum Pro). Ideal to secure a budget and hedge against market spikes. Best in low-price periods or for any business that values predictability.

📊 Variable indexed rate

The price tracks the wholesale market with periodic revisions (SUDénergie Mäi Stroum pro, Sudstroum Terra, Enovos naturstroum Pro). You benefit from drops… but bear the rises. Suited to a business betting on easing prices.

📈 Dynamic tariff

The price changes every 15 minutes (SUDénergie) or hour by hour on the EPEX Spot market (Enovos dynamic naturstroum Pro). Reserved for businesses able to shift their consumption (EV fleet charging, schedulable processes, storage) and equipped with a smart meter. High savings potential, but exposure to price peaks. 1. Compare the energy component — the only negotiable line. A 1 c€/kWh gap = €250/year for 25,000 kWh, €500/year for 50,000 kWh.
2. Right-size your subscribed power — an over-sized network fee weighs every month; power that is too low triggers overrun supplements.
3. Activate discounts — SEPA direct debit, e-invoicing and customer portals cut €18–€30/year effortlessly.
4. Manage consumption — on a dynamic tariff, shift flexible uses (EV charging, ventilation, refrigeration) to off-peak hours.
5. Solar self-consumption — rooftop panels reduce purchased kWh; also look into energy subsidies and grants.

Switching supplier is free, with no power cut and no work on your installation: the grid (Creos or Sudstroum) stays the same, only the company that bills you for energy changes. The new supplier handles cancelling the old contract.

Business-specific points: check the commitment period and any notice period of your current contract (fixed-price business contracts sometimes have a firm end date), and make sure your subscribed power matches your real needs before signing.
