Tango Mobile Luxembourg: GO mobile plans, review and comparison 2026
Tango — a brand of Proximus Luxembourg — is Luxembourg’s second-largest telecoms operator, present since 1998 with over 280,000 customers. A pioneer of innovation (first 5G test in April 2019, first no-contract plan range), Tango stands out today for its GO mobile range: 100% no-contract plans with unique smart data features like automatic rollover of unconsumed data (Data Plus). This guide analyses each plan in detail, the 5G network, GO advantage benefits and use cases — based on official Tango information checked in June 2026.

1. Tango in Luxembourg: 25 years of history and innovation
Tango is a brand of Proximus Luxembourg S.A., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Belgian group Proximus. Founded in 1998 as the first alternative operator, Tango has over 280,000 customers in 2026, making it Luxembourg’s number two telecoms operator. The Proximus Luxembourg group employs over 780 staff, with around twenty stores and partner sales points across the country. Customer service is available in French, Luxembourgish, German and English, 24/7.
Tango holds several Luxembourg firsts: first 5G test in April 2019 (before the ILR even awarded 5G licences), and pioneer of no-contract plans with the GO mobile range launched in 2025.
2. Tango GO mobile plans in 2026
Included in all GO mobile plans: data + calls + SMS + MMS across the entire Europe 1 zone (EU and associated countries including Switzerland, UK, Andorra, Monaco, Ukraine, Moldova…), digital press access via MyTango, national 5G (with compatible device and in covered areas). 3. Data Plus, Data Boost, Keep Surfing: what sets Tango apart
Included in GO S, GO M and GO L. Unconsumed GB at month-end roll over to the next month automatically. Example: use 12 GB of 20 GB (GO M) in July → 28 GB available in August. Only the previous month’s rollover accumulates.
Available in GO M and GO L. Free doubling of your monthly data allowance once a year. Activated from the MyTango app, no extra charge.
Included in GO L. After using all 30 GB, you continue browsing free of charge at reduced speed — no overage charges.
With Tango’s smart features
- Unused data rolls over automatically (Data Plus)
- Double your data free once a year (Data Boost)
- After plan runs out: reduced-speed browsing, no charges (Keep Surfing)
- No bill surprises
Standard plans (without these features)
- Unused data lost at month-end
- No data doubling possible
- Hard cut-off or overage charges when exceeded
- Usage must be constantly monitored
What Switchr observes: Data Plus, Data Boost and Keep Surfing are three safeguards designed to prevent disconnection when data limits are exceeded. Among Tango subscribers in our database who make use of these features, the majority report occasional but essential usage, as it typically kicks in during specific situations where Wi-Fi is unavailable (travelling within the European Union, in traffic, on public transport, etc.).
4. Tango’s 5G network in Luxembourg
Tango and Proximus NXT were the first Luxembourg operators to connect 5G, in April 2019 — over a year before the ILR officially awarded 5G licences. Commercial launch followed in October 2020 after obtaining ILR frequencies in the 700 MHz and 3,600 MHz bands.
| Frequency band | Range | Speeds | Main use |
|---|---|---|---|
| 700 MHz | Long range, good indoor penetration | Moderate | Rural coverage and indoor buildings |
| 3,600 MHz | Shorter range | Very high | Dense areas (city centres, stations, airport) |
Tango 5G is available across the Benelux thanks to partnerships with Proximus (Belgium) and Vodafone (Netherlands). For Belgian or Dutch cross-border workers, this is a practical advantage: browse in 5G in your home country and in Luxembourg on the same plan. In December 2020, Tango became the first Luxembourg operator to offer 5G in cross-border roaming.
5G is included in all GO mobile plans (with a compatible device and in covered areas). Coverage is particularly dense in Luxembourg City and the main agglomerations. For coverage comparisons, see our guide to mobile network coverage in Luxembourg.
5. Roaming: Europe, USA/Canada and beyond
Europe 1 zone — included in all GO plans
All Tango GO mobile plans include calls, SMS, MMS and data in the Europe 1 zone at no extra charge. This zone goes beyond the 32 RLAH countries — it also includes Switzerland, Monaco, Andorra, the UK and other territories. For everything on roaming, see our guide to roaming from Luxembourg.
USA and Canada — included in Unlimited Extra
For frequent North America travellers, GO mobile Unlimited Extra includes 80 GB of data plus calls and SMS in Europe, the United States and Canada.
According to Tango’s tariff list (applicable from 1 December 2025), mobile calls to Canadian and US numbers may be billed at the fixed-line international rate. Check the exact conditions in Tango’s official tariff documentation before travelling.
