1. The Luxembourg TV landscape: what you need to know

Luxembourg is a genuinely multilingual country in television terms: the same family can watch RTL Télé Lëtzebuerg in Luxembourgish, TF1 in French, ARD in German and the Premier League in English — all through a single TV subscription. Four operators offer residential TV services: POST Luxembourg (POP TV), Tango (Proximus subsidiary), Orange Luxembourg and Eltrona. In 2026, standard packages range from around 100 to 130 channels.

Unlike France or Belgium, Luxembourg has no national public broadcaster in the strict sense. RTL Télé Lëtzebuerg is a private channel (wholly owned by RTL Group, Bertelsmann) that fulfils this role under a contract with the Luxembourg government. There is no equivalent of France Télévisions or RTBF in the Grand Duchy.

2. Luxembourgish channels

RTL Télé Lëtzebuerg — the national channel

RTL Télé Lëtzebuerg is the country’s reference generalist channel. The RTL Hei Elei programme was created on 21 October 1991 on the Tele Lëtzebuerg channel, before being renamed RTL Télé Lëtzebuerg in 1995. The channel broadcasts in Luxembourgish: the main evening news (with up to 70% audience share in the 7–8 pm slot), society programmes, cultural magazines and national sporting events. It does not acquire films or foreign series — its schedule is 100% local production. Also accessible via RTL Play, the group’s streaming platform.

RTL Zwee — entertainment

RTL Zwee (formerly Den 2. RTL) is RTL Luxembourg’s second channel, launched in 2004. It offers entertainment-oriented programming: series, films, game shows, reality TV and repeats. Available on all Luxembourg TV platforms.

Chamber TV and Luxe.TV

Chamber TV broadcasts live plenary sessions of the Luxembourg Parliament. Luxe.TV, born in Luxembourg, is a thematic channel dedicated to luxury and the art of living, now broadcast in around forty countries.

RTL Télé Lëtzebuerg, RTL Zwee and Chamber TV are available with all Luxembourg TV operators. These are the three channels every Luxembourg subscriber receives in their base package, regardless of operator.

3. French and French-Belgian channels

French is one of Luxembourg’s administrative languages and the everyday language for a large part of the population and expats. French channels are the most numerous in Luxembourg TV packages and are almost all included in base packages at no extra cost. The standard package generally includes: TF1, France 2, France 3, Canal+ (free-to-air window), France 4, France 5, M6, Arte, C8, W9, TMC, TFX, 6ter, Gulli, Franceinfo and rolling news channels such as BFMTV, CNews, LCI.

Belgian French-language channels are also typically included: La Une, Tipik, La Trois (RTBF public channels) and RTL Belgium group channels RTL-TVI, Club RTL, Plug RTL.

All operators include in their standard package: Das Erste (ARD), ZDF, ZDFneo, 3sat, Arte DE (German version of Arte), Kika (ARD/ZDF children’s channel), Phoenix (news and documentaries), and commercial channels RTL Television, RTL Zwei, Vox, ProSieben, Sat.1, Kabel Eins, n-tv. Tango and POST also include Sport1 in their base package.

DAZN 1, DAZN 2 and DAZN 3 (formerly Eleven Sports 1, 2 and 3) are included in base packages or as the first sports option at most operators — covering Serie A, La Liga, Ligue 1, the Championship and many other competitions.

6. Cinema and series channels

Be tv is the main premium cinema offering in Belgium and Luxembourg. Available as an add-on at Orange, Eltrona and POST, it offers recent films, HBO content and series. At Eltrona, the Sky Cinema and Sky Entertainment packages offer a wide selection of recent films and exclusive Sky Originals (including HBO productions), primarily in German. Without add-ons, the base package includes Canal+ (free-to-air window), AB1, Téva, RTL9 and sometimes Action or Série Club.

All four main operators now integrate on-demand video (VOD) functions in their TV interfaces. Orange TV allows direct access to Netflix, YouTube and other apps from the remote control. POST (POP TV) has a VOD catalogue accessible from the 4K decoder. Tango and Eltrona also offer VOD and multi-screen access.

7. Kids and family channels

The standard package at all Luxembourg operators typically includes: Gulli (French children’s channel), Disney Channel (series and films for ages 6–14), Kika (ARD/ZDF German public children’s channel, ages 3–13) and Cartoon Network. At Tango, Nickelodeon and Disney Junior are also included in the base package. All operators offer parental control features in their interfaces.

If children’s content is a priority, Tango offers the widest selection of children’s channels in its base package (Disney Channel, Nickelodeon, Disney Junior, Cartoon Network, Kika, Gulli). Its Family Package is available as an option or included in L and XL packs.

8. International channels — IT, PT, ES, UK…

The Portuguese form the largest foreign community (around 13.5% of the population, approximately 90,000 nationals). All operators offer a Luso package as an option, generally including RTP 1, RTP 2, TVI, SIC and other diaspora channels. Rai 1, Rai 2, Rai 3 and Canale 5 are included in base packages at several operators (Orange and Tango). 12. Frequently asked questions about TV channels in Luxembourg

Which Luxembourgish channels are available with all operators?

RTL Télé Lëtzebuerg, RTL Zwee and Chamber TV are available with all Luxembourg TV operators (POST, Tango, Orange, Eltrona). These are the three channels every Luxembourg subscriber receives in their base package, regardless of operator. Luxe.TV is also available with most operators.

Can you watch TF1, M6 and France 2 in Luxembourg?

Yes. TF1, France 2, France 3, M6, Arte and the main French free-to-air channels are included in the base packages of all Luxembourg TV operators, at no extra cost. You do not need to subscribe to a paid option to access French free channels.

Which operator offers the Bundesliga in Luxembourg?

The full Bundesliga is available in Luxembourg primarily via the Sky Fussball Bundesliga package, available exclusively at Eltrona (requires prior subscription to Sky Entertainment). Bundesliga matches are also available via DAZN channels at other operators, but not all matches. Sport1 broadcasts some Bundesliga 2 matches, available in the base package at Tango and POST.

How can I watch the Premier League in Luxembourg?

The English Premier League is available via the VOOsport World package at Orange or Eltrona (which includes Premier League, Europa League, golf and combat sports), and via the Sky Sport Premier League HD package at Eltrona. At Tango, the Sport package included in some GO Duo L/XL packs also covers the Premier League. These options are paid add-ons on top of the base subscription.

Are Portuguese channels available in Luxembourg?

Yes. The Portuguese community being the largest foreign community in Luxembourg, all TV operators offer a Lusophone package as an option (often called « Luso » or « Luso Cabo »). This package generally includes RTP 1, RTP 2, TVI, SIC and other Portuguese diaspora channels. Available at POST, Tango, Orange and Eltrona at an additional monthly fee.

Which operator offers the most channels in Luxembourg?

In 2026, Tango offers the most channels in its base package with around 130 channels included in its GO Duo packs — about 10 more than POST (around 120) and 30 more than Orange and Eltrona (100+). This advantage translates notably into more international channels, documentaries and children’s programmes included without a surcharge.

Can I watch Luxembourg TV channels while travelling?

Yes, subject to conditions. All operators offer a mobile app allowing viewing while travelling in Luxembourg and the European Union (EU « online content portability » regulation). POST offers POP TV Go, Tango has MyTangoTV Plus (compatible with up to 5 devices), Orange TV is available on mobile and smart TV, and Eltrona TV+ works on all mobile devices. Outside the EU, access is generally restricted due to broadcast rights.

Are Sky channels available in Luxembourg?

Yes, but only at Eltrona, the only Luxembourg operator to distribute Sky packages. The offer includes Sky Entertainment, Sky Cinema, Sky Sport and Sky Fussball Bundesliga. Access to Sky Cinema, Sky Sport and Sky Fussball Bundesliga requires prior subscription to Sky Entertainment. These packages are not available at POST, Tango or Orange in Luxembourg.

Is Arte available in both French and German in Luxembourg?

Yes. Arte is available in both its French version and its German version (Arte DE) in the base packages of all Luxembourg TV operators. The two streams are distinct — you can watch the same programme in either language.
