What to do in case of a claim?
In Luxembourg, declaring a claim is governed by the Law of 27 July 1997 on the insurance contract: declare the claim as soon as possible and within the deadline set by your policy. LALUX itself reminds that « depending on the type of damage, the declaration deadline is very short. »
1. Secure and limit the damage — the law requires you to take reasonable measures to limit the consequences. For theft, file a police report first.

Good to know: any action arising from the insurance contract is time-barred after 3 years (5 years for liability). The history of LALUX in Luxembourg
Created on 29 February 1920, LA LUXEMBOURGEOISE is the first insurance company in the Grand Duchy. It launched its life insurance business in 1937. In 1989, it separated its life and non-life activities, and Spuerkeess (the state bank) entered the capital — a strategic partnership still in place today.
In 2002, the group took a 25% stake in DKV Luxembourg, then acquired it 100% in 2015. The « LALUX » brand and the new Leudelange head office appeared in 2011. In 2020, the company celebrated its centenary and took over Cardif Lux Vie’s « Employee Benefits » activity.
